Mr Pravin Khandpasole (President) was a hardcore corporate who quit his lucrative job to pursue a career in development. He spent his first two years in rural development and then seven years in rehabilitation of life convicts in Amravati and Nagpur Central Jails. He completed his Masters in Social Work to do this job well. The plight of the victim in this case while working with the prisoners made him uneasy. Further, he worked for two years as a research officer at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences to understand social work and research activities in the criminal justice system. He founded DISHA in 2008 and in 2014, due to his tireless efforts, a victim compensation scheme came into existence in Maharashtra and for this he got the world famous Ashoka Fellowship. He recently graduated from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai with a degree in Development Management to enhance the scalability of his work.


Dr. Vasudha Tantarpale (vice-president) has completed her M.S, M. Phil, and Ph.D. in science (Botany) and working as Head and Associate Professor in renowned Vidhyabharati Mahavidyalaya of Amravati. She has 31 years of teaching experience and has always been an inspiration and helping hand to needy & poor students. Her desire to contribute to social cause brought her in close contact with DISHA and made her actively involved in creating awareness among students and colleges in Amravati.


Mrs Jyoti Khandpasole (Secretary) is a TISS graduate in Social Work (Criminology), Master in Law (Criminal), and has studied ‘Development Management’ from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai. She started her career in Amravati and Nagpur Central Jails by rehabilitating life convicts. Then she joined the Tata Institute of Social Sciences as a research officer to understand social work and research activities in the criminal justice system. For the next ten years, she worked in Maharashtra for the rights and rehabilitation of children in conflict with the law. Her skills in the field of the criminal justice system are training, communication, and research. She is a co-founder of DISHA and is keen to ensure ‘justice and rehabilitation’ for victims, an invisible partner in the criminal justice system.


Ms Monika Kalbande (Joint Secretary) has a B.Tech degree in Computer Science and is working with FICO as an analyst in the United Kingdom. She has been involved in DISHA’s work since her college days and is actively involved in running mobile help desks at police stations, raising funds, and visiting houses to identify children in need. She has a good understanding and commitment to the question of children and women. Because of her passion and credible strength, she connected a lot of people, resources. She has been instrumental in raising funds for vulnerable children under various DISHA’s projects.


Mr Ashok Hirulkar (Treasurer) is a commerce graduate and had completed a Master of Education (M.Ed.) (Hearing Impairment) from Pune University. Though he had ample opportunities in Pune, he chose to serve poor and tribal children in Pusad block of Yavatmal district. There he served for 25 years in Mukbadhir Vidhyalay, Phophali, and enabled specially abled children to get educated and better livelihood opportunities in life.


Mr Abhijeet Sonawane (Executive Member) is a staunch professional working as a project manager at Reliance Digital and has 15 years of project management experience. He is actively involved in the development of DISHA’s Community Center for children.


Mr Swapnil Patane (Executive Member)  Swapnil is a software engineer by profession and has over 16 years of extensive experience in software quality assurance. He is currently with Software MNC based in Pune, Maharashtra. He is actively involved in increasing the tech-front of DISHA.
