Jyoti

Director - Programmes

Jyoti started her career in social work with 'life convicts' in Amravati and Nagpur Central Prison (2006-2007). Thereafter she led a state level research on 'Juvenile Justice' with the Center for Criminology & Justice, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Since 2009 to April 2019 she worked to ensure 'Child Rights' to children in conflict with law and bring them under the ambit of child protection in Maharashtra. Training, Communication and Research have been her expertise in the field of Criminal Justice System. She is founder president and keenly working as Director(Programs) to ensure 'Rights & Equal Access to Justice' to crime victim, an invisible partner in the Criminal Justice System.

Director (Administration & Operation)

Pravin devoted seven years in rehabilitative work with 'life convicts' in Amravati and Nagpur Central Prison and realized the need of 'Victim Justice & Assistance' in the Indian Criminal Justice System. Training in 'Social Work' helped him to understand issues of 'Crime Victim' and to dig deep he lead one state level research study on 'Probation in Criminal Justice System' with Center for Criminology & Justice, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. There he enhanced his knowledge and understanding on subject of 'Victim Justice' across globe. Through DISHA he brought State level 'policy change' in the form of Maharashtra Victim Compensation Scheme 2014. To maximize impact of his work at national level, he studied 'Development Management' from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai. He is founder and working as Director (Administration & Operations) of DISHA.

Manish

Manish

Project Co-ordinator

Manish is graduate in arts from Amravati University and later completed Masters in Social Work from Nagpur University along with Diploma in counselling. Currently he appeared for LLB from Amravati University. Manish started his career from Varhad Organization from 2003 to 2007 for Prisioners Rehabilitation. He also took some experience of corporate sector by working in HDFC Nagpur as a sales manager for 6 months. Later he joined Tata Institute of Social Science Mumbai as Assistant Research Officer to conduct research with CIDKO Dept. Mumbai, which lasted for six months. After its completion, he has been working with DISHA since 2009 till now as a project coordinator for all districts, and has solid experience on victim rehabilitation, Child Rights, Quality Education, and Urban Poverty issue. He has experience of around 10 years at DISHA.

Pallavi

Pallavi

Documentation and Research Officer

Pallavi completed her Bachelors in Engineering, in 2014 and has been a part of Nirman education process held at SEARCH Gadchiroli (batch no.5). Her initial interest of work was in environment conservation and sustainable development; and so she had explored ‘e-waste management’ as one of the solutions, however when she came in contact with DISHA, she was completely moved by the cause and the work and so joined DISHA with Nirman Fellowship. Since then she continued working with DISHA as a documentation and research officer and has work experience of almost 4 years.

Sarika

Sarika

Social Worker

Sarika is graduated in arts from Amravati University and later completed Masters in Social Work from Nagpur University in May 2016 and has currently appeared there for M.Phil. After completing her block placement of 3 moths with Resource Cell for Juvenile Justice (RCJJ), she started working at DISHA from October 2016, and has been working since then as a social worker working under the victim assistance and crime prevention programs at Amravati District. Under these programs she is responsible for extensive casework and support for rehabilitation of victims of murder, sexual assault and domestic violence in Amravati D istrict and conducting awareness sessions for specific populations on safety and crime prevention. She has experience of around 3 years at DISHA.

Mayur is new joinee at DIHSA. He joined DISHA in August 2019 as a social worker and works for Amravati District under the ‘Victim Assistance’ and ‘Crime Prevention & Awareness’ programs. He is committed to work further for DISHA.

Project coordinator Mobile Help Desk

Yogesh has completed Bachelor and Masters in Social work from Amravati University in 2013, and has currently appeared for MA Sociology. He has worked with FUEL NGO that worked for career counseling, for 1 year as a project coordinator and later started working with DISHA from October 2017 as a project coordinator under the Mobile Help-desk Project. He is responsible for running Mobile Help Desk at 31 rural police stations in Amravati District along with implementation of all the project activities. He has experience of two years at DISHA.

Social Worker

Yogesh has completed BA from Yashwantarao Chavhan Open University and for one month worked under a Tata Institute of Social Sciences Project for data collection regarding ‘Sukhi Baliraja Pudhakar Yojana’. He then completed D.Ed followed by MSW in Yavatmal in 2017. He joined DISHA as a social worker for Yavatmal District in December 2017 and is working under the ‘Victim Assistance’ and ‘Crime Prevention & Awareness’ programs at Yavatmal district. He has work experience of two years at DISHA.

Radhika

Social Worker

Radhika has completed Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from Amravati University in 2013. She has total 3 years of work experience (field work and counselling) at BHAKTI counselling center in Amravati. She joined DISHA in June 2018 as a social worker and works under the Mobile Help Desk Project that reaches out to victims and people in risks coming under the 31 rural police stations of Amravati district. She has work experience of 1 year at DISHA.

Varsha completed Bachelor and Masters in Social Work from Mahatma Jyotiba Fule College of Social work Yavatmal in 2018 and joined DISHA in March 2019 as social worker working for implementation of ‘Victim Assistance’ and ‘Crime Prevention & Awareness’ Programs at Yavatmal District.

Office Assistant cum Accountant

Kalpesh has completed B.Com and handles all responsibilities related to accounts of DISHA. He has been working with DISHA since two years.

Driver

Ramesh is appointed on Mobile Help-desk project as a driver, in Mobile Help Desk Project but actively involved in all the programmatic activities of DISHA. He has experience of two years working at DISHA.
